The Cottonwood Union School District Board of Trustees will be meeting to discuss the possible closure of East Cottonwood Elementary School beginning in the 2012/2013 school year.  This closure is in response to the continued state budget issues that are hampering the state and as a result the school district.  The state currently owes the Cottonwood School District $1.2 million that is expected to climb to $1.9 million by the end of the 2013/14 school year. The meetings to discuss the possible closure of the school will take place on March 6th, March 20th, and maybe April 17th if needed.  The meeting on March 6th begins at 6:00pm and the other two meetings would begin at 6:30 pm.  All of the meetings will be held at the West Cottonwood Junior High School Library and are open to the public.
